Tanner Douglas

Sr. Director, ClinEdge Business Line

Tanner Douglas is the Director of Business Development for the ClinEdge business unit, where he leads inside sales and business development strategy focused on expanding access to clinical research. He oversees a high-performing team of Associate Directors, Senior Account Executives, and Inside Sales Representatives, helping shape go-to-market strategy, operational structure, and execution by simplifying site engagement and accelerating clinical trial enrollment. 

With more than seven years of experience across life sciences, clinical research, and regulated healthcare markets, Tanner brings a results-driven, relationship-focused leadership style informed by prior roles at ProPharma Group and Medix, where he built new territories, expanded enterprise life science accounts, and partnered closely with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored solutions for clients. Known for his strategic planning, sales leadership, and ability to align stakeholders across organizations, Tanner is passionate about connecting patients, physicians, and sponsors to innovative research opportunities that support medical advancement and broaden access to clinical trials.

Lori Rich

Executive Account Manager

Lori Rich is the Executive Account Manager for the Financial Management Services division of Elligo. She is responsible for the growth and development of the network of research institutions within the business line. The Financial Management business line provides contract and budget negotiations, coverage analysis, and revenue cycle management. She works alongside the Site Strategy and Financial Management teams to onboard institutions, ensuring long-lasting successful relationships. 

Lori Rich has over 16 years of experience in accounting, finance, and site operations. Before joining Elligo she worked as VP of Financial Operations for ClinEdge and BTC Network, where she developed and executed on department goals and scaled the capabilities of the business line offerings.  

Earlier in her career, Lori held positions within project management accounting where she worked alongside the management team executing accounts payable, payroll, administration, and technology integration. 

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, gardening, grilling, and volunteering in the community.

Ethan Rooney

Chief Growth Officer

Ethan Rooney is the Chief Growth Officer of Elligo Health Research, bringing over 28 years of experience in the clinical trials industry. Ethan started his career in trial operations as a data coordinator, CRA/Monitor, trial, and program manager for global trials in the cardiovascular space. As an entrepreneur Ethan also founded, built, and sold a medical device CRO and is experienced in strategic acquisitions and diligence activities that strengthen a company’s capabilities.

Before joining Elligo, Ethan served as Chief Revenue Officer at 83bar, a technology enabled patient recruitment firm, as well as several other roles on senior leadership teams with head of sales and marketing responsibilities.

Ethan holds a B.S. in Biology & biomedical science from University of Wisconsin – LaCrosse, and an MBA from University of St. Thomas. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, and being outdoors as much as possible.

Jake Johnson

Interim Chief Financial Officer

Jake Johnson is the Interim Chief Financial Officer of Elligo Health Research, bringing more than a decade of experience in corporate finance, strategic planning, and M&A across healthcare and related industries. He leads Elligo’s financial strategy and execution, demonstrating a proven ability to guide the company through periods of significant growth and transformation.

Before joining Elligo, Jake held roles in investment banking with Sheshunoff & Co. and in corporate development at Carriage Services (NYSE: CSV), where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investments. His background spans valuation, forecasting, and financial reporting, with a consistent focus on aligning financial performance with long-term business objectives.

Jake holds a B.B.A. in Finance from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling with his family, playing soccer, and trying out different Texas BBQ recipes.

Barry Simms is the Chief Executive Officer of Elligo Health Research, bringing over 25 years of experience in clinical research and pharmaceutical services. He has held executive leadership roles across CROs, central laboratories, and site networks, with a focus on driving operational excellence, strategic growth, and business development.

Before joining Elligo, Barry served as CEO and Chief Operating Officer at LabConnect, a global central laboratory, where he led large-scale operations in project management, clinical kitting, accessioning, and biorepository services. His background also includes leading global laboratory partnerships, scaling private equity-backed companies, and improving performance across complex research operations.

Barry holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Virginia’s College at Wise and an MBA from King University. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and staying active through hiking, skiing, and time at the lake.
